А вот и новость, которая меня немного повергла в шок! 🤯 Оказывается, Джефф Каплан, бывший геймдиректор Overwatch (да-да, тот самый, кто потом покинул Blizzard, а теперь принадлежит Xbox!), рассказал, почему он ушел из студии.

И причина, прямо скажем, не самая приятная. 😠 В интервью Lex Fridman Каплан поведал, что финансовый директор Blizzard тогда просто поставил ему ультиматум: либо Overwatch зарабатывает определенную сумму в 2020 году, а потом ежегодно приносит столько-то денег, либо… 1000 разработчиков будут уволены, и вся вина ляжет на Каплана.

Каплан назвал это "самым большим "F** you"* моментом в его карьере". Он был в шоке, потому что никогда не думал, что покинет Blizzard, ведь он считал эту компанию своим домом и местом, где хотел бы работать до конца. 💔 Но после такого заявления от финансового директора он понял, что пора уходить. К счастью, этого финансового директора там сейчас уже нет.

Мнение от Евгений (MSReview): Ситуация, конечно, показательная. Давление на разработчиков со стороны финансов — это, к сожалению, не редкость. Но когда это переходит в шантаж, это уже совсем другая история. Хорошо, что такие люди, как Каплан, готовы говорить об этом открыто. Надеюсь, индустрия станет чуть более человечной.
